If you have a terminal app installed on your device, such as the Mac OS X / macOS Terminal, Hermes Terminal, SyncTERM, ZTerm, etc., click on the above image to telnet to the Armageddon BBS. Clicking on the above image should result in your terminal/telnet client being launched/started on your computer, if everything is set up properly on your end. This is normal behavior, so don't be alarmed when your terminal/client runs.

Sadly, I trashed these tutorials a few years ago after I shut down my board for the fourth time, and left BBSing for good ..... or at least so I thought. However, now that I have resurrected the Armageddon BBS for the fifth time since 1993, I am happy to report that I have begun to recreate these tutorials. The ones which have been recreated and updated for Hermes 4 are shown at the top of the list, and have an update date in the description column.

Hermes 4 Server 0.1.0 b110: Latest version of the Hermes 4 server software as of Oct. 13, 2026. It requires a Silicon-based Mac and runs on macOS up to Golden Gate. No compilation required.
